Finals and Progress

Finals are a pressure to every student. I'm sure everybody can relate. You have a deadline to do one final assignment, which consists of typing a bunch of pages and you have to like 8 to 10 pages and more. I really don't like typing especially if I can't think of any other thing to put. Sometimes finals can be tests and you have to study all the things from the first day you were in class. Takes a long time to remember all the stuff in my head. It' s funny how many people show up the first day of classes and then don't show 4 the rest of the days unless a midterm or final comes. What you can do to get this finals thing over with is:
  • ignore the finals assignments and do it the last minute when it blows up in your face
  • do it early and get it over with
  • if test, just get help from people, (in which I meant studying with)
  • look in the internet
  • eat well, unless you want people to hear the dragon
The website I have to do for my final is getting there, but I might have trouble setting up the measurements for the links. I have gone far knowing a lot about Dreamweaver. I know I have made improvements since my midterm website but I am still experimenting with it.

Holidays

I didn't go anywhere on Black Friday. I wouldn't want to be in a line or have to get through huge crowds of people, especially when they are in a hurry for some amazing deal they never seen before. Even in grocery stores, the places are packed with people eager with shopping carts. I agree with what Sam said about how people just buy stuff that's available and don't think about if they need it at all. They could find better deals online or just wait. To me it's not worth trying to pull a box of a fancy television with another angry person just for a dumb deal and get shot for it. In the holidays, you may think things are cheaper, when in fact they get much more expensive. Take Thanksgiving as an example, where the price of a turkey raises high by the amount of pounds. In the Christmas season, things will be expensive because its that time of the year. Nobody would buy a Christmas tree on July, but it may be cheaper and you may have people staring at you all confused.

The Programs

Out of all the programs from Adobe, Photoshop seems to be the best suited for me. I have worked long on that program where I know most shortcuts or messing with the layers for an image. I like to use the gradient, the filters, layer styles or doing the things I learned in Photography class. Eventually I realized that I will have to depend on the other programs if I want art pieces to be finished. In Illustrator I would use to mess with the fonts, letters, shapes and making designs. It is useful i I want to make a logo or make abstract images. I would use Dreamweaver  just to make webpages and learn to organize my work better.

There are many I haven't messed with but all I know is that if I want to make a flyer or an advertisement, combinations of Photoshop and Illustrator will have to be used to get the works fitted as best as you want. But as I said before, Photoshop is what I'm most familiar and I'm getting better at it.

Would it pay off?

What I learn about graphic design does connect in the real world. Sure it's something you have to do on a computer but it can be applied to things for art. Whether it is drawing, painting, taking pictures, web design they connect to each other. I could make a site that shows the things I've done in art classes. It applies to other subjects like math, business or cooking. Why? Because if the person wants to be promoted for his or her work in making cakes, music making, offering tutor service to students, a web page or a flyer made by graphic designers would help make it happen.

Sometimes I ask myself if what I do in school pays off, but I like to think it does and it will.

Again Technology

Yea. It's another discussion about technology. I do find it amazing how gadgets will improve more day by day even if it was a simple adjustment. When companies make a product they would put a new feature even if that feature was not worth it, the companies would raise the price. For instance, the movies in DVD are now getting cheaper than those of Blue Ray, because supposedly Blue Ray movies are newer and have more enhancement and clearer to watch. Okay, that may be worth a little more than a DVD movie. But sometimes the products are raised more in price just because the movie cover is designed better than the old version or that there is a commentary or deleted scenes. I really would rather focus on the movie and nothing else. Maybe if they change the color of the lens of the movie or that the movie be put in a special case would have the price of it $5 more plus tax. All part of business.

The Day after Thanksgiving

Watch out for Black Friday as it is a time when people get all greedy and hurry for some deal they never seen of a fancy HD TV, new clothes, new jewelry. It's every man and woman for themselves. I think it pushes the line when people just don't have moral on how they act when buying something. You see all those commercials with "the hottest deals" just trying to get people to go in the midnight and wait a line. When all of a sudden the store opens, people push each other, get in arguments for the favorite computer and who knows what happens just to get a PS3 or some pointless gadget. So much for the recession that people complain about if they packing money for stores. Screw this! It just shows how materialistic we still are and would kill each other for it. I feel sorry for the workers who work at that time.(of course I do hear they get paid more)

After Thanksgiving, people get stuffed for food and sleep and think that's what it's all about. Well maybe yeah. But it shouldn't be this way. People should just think of what they got and be grateful for what they gained in the years. Who knows what Christmas holds, because there are already commercials for the Christmas holiday when it's not even December. You can shop on Black Friday. There's nothing wrong with waking up in the cold and getting a coffee to go wait in an extended line outside. Plus there are still some deals later in the day. Just be aware of what happens in the stores and shop responsibly. Happy Thanksgiving!

So far...

So far I am getting better at making websites. I am knowing how to put the classes and setting up the divs. I am still having trouble on setting up the links or knowing how to make it fit the content box. I still have a trouble of putting the divs on the right place. Once I fix the positioning, the box ends up going to a place I do not want. Sometimes I have to set up the divs first and organize where each one goes in what place.
I still trying to check the web pages and from others to compare and see what I have done wrong. Once I know the mistakes and the exact codes, I would handle everything. For exercise 8 it seemed easy once I know how to put the codes and when submitting the form,it was sent to my email address.
