Taste of Music

To me rap should be about talking about what you feel, or what you going through. Most hip hop music I hear is the same. Money, sex, drugs, seem to be the biggest topic for rappers to rap. I stopped settling for this genre as I listen to other styles of music from 70s, 80s, oldies, soul, rock and many others. Don't get me wrong, I still hear rap and hip hop music as there are artists who do talk different issues that are about life and are redundant in the music.

Expanding your mind with different music tastes will be convenient to know more about issues of life. Most of the songs from artists talk about music or about what happened to their friends or another one about being stuck in a desert. That is odd, but it's interesting for me to listen about. Yes, I do pay attention to the lyrics an artist makes. Others just be talking some story and some simple lyrics and believe me that those techniques an artist make are hits. When it comes to rap, however, people aren't trying anymore.

  1. I agree, music nowadays are so mainstream that as long as it 'sounds catchy' & has a good beat, it is guaranteed to be a hit. One song is by Jay-z & Kanye west - N***** in Paris. Lyrics in this song is so stupid that they even sample from a movie saying they don't even understand it, yet it's catchy. I thought that was comedic, but still the song is pointless.
